The Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita<\/span><\/span> (BNSS) is India\u2019s updated criminal procedure law, replacing the Code of Criminal Procedure<\/span><\/span>. It came into force on 1 July 2024 to modernize and streamline the criminal justice process.<\/p>

BNSS focuses on improving the efficiency, transparency, and speed of investigations and trials. It introduces provisions for the use of technology such as e-FIR, digital evidence, and video conferencing in legal proceedings. The law emphasizes time-bound investigations, faster delivery of justice, and better coordination between police and courts.<\/p>

It also strengthens the rights of victims and ensures greater accountability of law enforcement agencies.
